- Learn about the architecture of a few unique architects, use 3D modeling software to design their own structure in the style of one, and then construct a 3D scale model.

BYOT - Helping kids connect school & home. Many kids have devices and that fits what others have done with BYOD and fits here too. But, we should think broader, for those who don't have devices or underpowered devices, and make the D a T and include online tools like personal google tools, evernote, blogs, or whatever they can use to work in both places or create in both places. Kids could divide into smaller user groups to explore/master a set of tools that fits them. Then, they can turn around and teach 1 or 2 others about the tool(s) they mastered. End result is a list of experts in certain tools and possibly a cheatsheet page in wikispaces that has links to whatever they decide would be helpful for a n00b or intermediate user. For those interested/able, it might lead to a studentled choice hour or two along the lines of the BYOAD I'm running next marking period. For OS kids, it might be focused on tools to help them succeed instead of getting in their way. This could easily get at a number of team building pieces as well, but built into the project. It could also be a bootcamp sort of thing that gives the skills to make your year more productive and other teachers. The kids could run sessions for parents and community members during their class or after school in the old CyberCafe mode.

1-2 minutes for teacher to present challenge, 3-5 minutes to plan/visualize and discuss their solution, receive materials, 30 min to build/test/iterate, 5 min to determine winner through the challenge performance, 5 min to post photo/video of entry in action & verbal or typed reflection

NetSmart - designing a digital citizenship campaign for our school and community using NetSmart (Howard Rheingold's book) This could easily get at a number of team building pieces as well, but built into the project.
